Balayage
Balayage, which is the French meaning for “to sweep”, is a new, popular technique used to highlight hair, which leaves a more natural regrowth and leaves a multi-dimensional, sun kissed effect on the hair.
If you’re happy to grow this style out and maintain with a root melt, then it can be a low maintenance style, but if you want the highlights to stay near the roots it does require fresh highlights around every 12 weeks).
The balayage technique can be done in foils or free hand, and it requires a lightning product to create a multi-tonal effect.
To create a seamless blend, we like to finish our balayage look with a root melt, you cannot tell where one colour ends, and another starts.
Our team will encourage you to keep the colour of the root melt close to your natural colour, to keep the maintenance low.
We are able to create a very subtle sun kissed look, or a more defined contrast depending on the desired outcome.
It’s very important that a thorough consultation takes place before a balayage treatment, to ensure we are able to achieve the desired look when you come for your appointment and you leave the salon with the hair you dreamed of.
Time scales vary for a full balayage, but please allow 5 hours or more for this full service.
An example cost would include full head balayage highlights, Wellaplex or Olaplex treatment, a root melt, and long hair cut and blow and is £230.70
Example process (exact process would depend on your specific hair, and chosen look)

A skin test is required at least 48 hours before this service – please note, this will take 45 minutes at our salon and we can do a consultation at this time if you wish

Thorough consultation - we will ask that you bring pictures of the look you want to achieve

Balayage style foils are put in the hair

Leave to develop

Rinse and apply Wellaplex or Olaplex treatment

Rinse and apply root melt to wet or dry hair

Rinse, occasionally we double tone at this point

Rinse and move on to cut and styling
